Warehousing & Storage Level 2 Certificate QCF

Course Outline

 

The Warehousing and Storage Apprenticeship is aimed at candidates who wish to develop a career in the logistics sector. The aim is to recognise the knowledge and competence that warehouse operatives need as part of their day to day job role and provide a suitable qualification that enables individuals to demonstrate their competence and understanding against a set of units based on the needs of the industry.

 

The course includes a combination of mandatory units, which cover essential skills required; including health, safety and security at work and developing effective working relationships with colleagues, along with a variety of optional units which are selected with the employer and focus on specific aspects within the individual job role.

Qualification Units

 

The mandatory units:

 

  • Health, Safety and Security at Work

  • Develop Effective Working Relationships with Colleagues in Logistics Operations

 

The selection of optional units includes:

 

  • Pick goods in Logistics Operations

  • Process Orders for Customers in Logistics

  • Operations

  • Maintain Hygiene Standards in Handling and Storing Goods in Logistics Operations

  • Operate Equipment to Perform Work Requirements in Logistics Operations

Components

 

  • NVQ in Warehousing and Storage (QCF)

  • Functional Skills- Maths/English (Exempt if already achieved GCSE/AS/A Level Grade E and above)

  • Knowledge of Employment Rights and Responsibilities

 

Assessment

 

The apprenticeship consists of several components each of which will be assessed in their own way. Assessment will take place in the workplace; your assessor will visit you on a monthly basis to work towards the evidence needed for your qualification.

 

NVQ- Combination of online exams and a variety of portfolio evidence including; work logs, evidence sheets, witness testimonies and workplace observations.

 

Employer Rights and Responsibilities- Successful completion of ERR Workbook

 

Functional Skills (Maths/English)- Achieve the required examinations.
