Apprenticeships play a key role in building the national skills base, they are a fantastic way for young people to progress in the workplace and they make good business sense.
Apprenticeships are open to all age groups above 16 years-old whether just leaving school, have been working for years or are seeking to start a new career. Competition for places with employers can be fierce, so apprentices need to show that they are committed and aware of responsibilities to both themselves and the company who would employ them. Apprentices need to be happy to work as both part of a team or individually and be able to use your own initiative. Apprentices earn while they learn and learn in a way that is best suited to them – through hands-on experience on the job
Apprenticeships are designed with the help of the employers in the industry so they offer a structured programme that takes apprentices through skills required to do a job well.
With over 180 different types of Apprenticeships, there’s bound to be a place for an apprentice for you or your organisation. Taylor Made Training along with Carlisle College currently offer 7 apprenticeship schemes with Level 2 and Level 3 opportunities.
